We camped in the Walnut Creek section. It was a very nice campground with modern facilities. We had a very large site, full hookups. Our only complaint was trying to figure out how to pay for the site! The park's entrances all had kiosks, but no one was there (probably because it is November). There was a self-pay slot, but the prices varied by the type of site, so we couldn't pay in advance as we didn't know what type of site we'd be in. So we drove in, chose a site intending to go back and pay, and THEN found out we were supposed to pay the campground host -- but only because we made a wrong turn and drove by the host's site where a sign said, "pay here.". A sign stating that at the kiosk would have saved us a lot of confusion.

The campground was fine; the low rating is because they asked us to sign a statement that we would be liable for ANY damage to our site and we authorized them to charge our credit card to "repair or replace the damaged property or facility." I've never seen that before, and might have lived with that part, but the next line was a deal breaker: "I further agree that I will not dispute charges to my credit card made by Waco North KOA, and I will not initiate a charge back for any reason whatsoever." We refused to sign, and they backed down.

As of October 2009, this campground is under new management, and the couple who now own it are as friendly and accommodating as you could want. We mentioned that branches on a tree near the office needed to be trimmed as they rubbed on the side of the coach, and a few minutes later he was out there trimming the tree. Our site was level and everything worked as promised. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice, level, gravel sites. Somewhat close to neighbors, but everyone was polite and considerate. Pretty lakes on-site.

Very nice, pretty, and clean camp on a creek with ducks and geese. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. All the sites are back-in, but they have sites big enough for the biggest rigs and room to maneuver as you back in. Please heed the earlier warnings -- do not use your GPS to find the camp. Once in Edinburg, follow the signs instead. If you follow the GPS, you will end up on a narrow, steep, curving road that has a one-lane, 10 ton bridge with almost no guard rail at the bottom. It will be scary if you are under 10 tons but you will make it; if you are over, you will have to back up on a hill (with the curve) as there is no place to turn around. The signed route is well marked and will only take you a short distance further.

This is mainly a big field with electric and water hookups. No frills, but the price is right! $12.50 is Passport America rate, but there are no restrictions on days of the week or length of stay. No services, but cg is close to everything in Mt. Pleasant. Pay by check on the honor system. Dump station is available.

The directions on the website are confusing - coming from the south, the street names change and there are no signs for the campground, so you think you are are the wrong road when you aren't. I called the day before I arrived to see if I needed a reservation, and was told I did not. When I got there, the woman at the desk was very patronizing because I didn't have a reservation, and acted as though she didn't believe me. They put big rigs in sites along the river, but they have very sharp turn angles and are difficult to back into or get out of. I saw many rigs using the site across the road from them to back and fill to get out, and it was just lucky that no one was in that site. The grounds of the campground are very nice, and the river setting is pretty. But the staff doesn't seem to be very friendly or helpful.
